According to a spokeswoman, the semi-retired music icon will be making his newly recorded holiday single 'December Song (I Dreamed of Christmas)' available for download free on Christmas Day.

HIV Diagnoses Among Gay Men Continues to Rise in UK

An estimated 77,400 people were living with HIV in the UK in 2007 with more than a quarter (28 percent) unaware of their infection, according to figures released this week by the Health Protection Agency. This compares with the estimated 73,000 previously reported to be living with the infection (2006). Diagnoses among gay men continue to increase with 3,160 men (41 percent of all new diagnoses) testing positive in 2007.

British Film Critic Trashes Nicole Kidman Performance in Australia

A film critic for the British Times has decided to tell the world exactly what she thinks of Nicole Kidman -- and the Aussie actress might want to read this particular review while sitting down. Melanie Reid started off her review of Kidman’s performance in the Baz Luhrmann epic Australia by saying the director made a 'big, big mistake' casting the Oscar winner as the female lead, saying quite matter of factly, 'she can’t act.'

High-flying Winona Ryder OD's, Rushed to Hospital

Heathers’ star Winona Ryder was rushed to the hospital after an in-flight mystery illness on a plane bound for London forced the pilot to make a priority landing Wednesday. Now, The Daily Mail is reporting that Ryder, a notorious bad flyer, suffered a reaction to popping too many Xanax to help ease her in-flight anxiety.

Madonna Guy Ritchie Divorce Turns Nasty

Madonna’s divorce from her director hubby Guy Ritchie appears on track to become one of the nastiest splits of the year. In addition to the various insults both Madonna and Ritchie have hurled at one another in the press and in private in recent weeks, it was reported today that Guy Ritchie has flatly turned down a $31 million offer from Madge to the settle their divorce out of court. Some now say the split is going to get most 'acrimonious'.

In London where some 300,000 U.S. voters reside, Republicans are busy registering new voters and targeting Americans working in London's Canary Wharf financial district, while former Vice President Al Gore was joined by Hollywood A-listers Gwyneth Paltrow and Kate Hudson in the British capitol on Thursday for a series of events designed to raise money for Sen. Former Beatles band mate Sir Paul McCartney is furious over claims in a new biography that John Lennon wanted a gay relationship with him. Lennon’s widow, Yoko Ono, is also angry over claims made in the book that Lennon desired a sexual relationship with McCartney and had fantasies about sleeping with his mother. Although McCartney and Ono agreed to be interviewed for Philip Norman's John Lennon: The Life, both are now reportedly 'extremely angry and upset' by the author’s portrayal of the legendary icon.

New Online Reporting Facility for UK Gay and Transgender Victims of Bullying

A new online reporting facility for victims of homophobic and transphobic bullying has been launched in the UK by Educational Action Challenging Homophobia (EACH). The scheme is available to young people throughout the UK, and to adults in the West Country of England. Meanwhile EACH’s UK-wide Actionline continues to provide ongoing support for any young person, giving them the opportunity to report homophobic bullying and seek confidential help and assistance.
