William Balfour Arrested in Murders of Jennifer Hudson’s Family

Chicago police have officially arrested suspect William Balfour in the murders of Jennifer Hudson’s mother, brother and nephew in October. Balfour, who was married to Hudson’s sister, was taken into custody shortly after the murders on a parole violation. On Monday, an official arrest warrant was issued for Balfour in the murder case and he was transferred to Chicago police custody.

Sen. Hillary Clinton will be playing on President Elect Barack Obama’s team since he officially nominated his rival in the primaries to be Secretary of State during a Chicago press conference Monday. 'Fame' Goes New School

A remake of the now-classic 1980 film about kids attending a dramatic arts high school in New York CIty starts shooting this week, with Debbie Allen, Megan Mullally, Kelsey Grammer, Charles S. Dutton and Bebe Neuwirth all lined up to play teachers. The kids are largely unknowns; Allen had a small cameo in 1980 as a teacher but now will play the school's principal.

World AIDS Day: HIV Gone for Good?

The virus that causes AIDS could theoretically be eliminated in a decade if all people living in countries with high infection rates are regularly tested and treated, according to a new mathematical model. 'It's quite a startling result,' said Charlie Gilks, an AIDS treatment expert at the World Health Organization and one of the paper's authors. 'In a relatively short amount of time, we could potentially knock the epidemic on its head.'

Hundreds Injured, 80 Dead in Mumbai India Terrorist Attacks

Coordinated terrorist attacks in Mumbai, India have left approximately 80 dead and hundreds injured. Attackers armed with machine guns and explosives targetted several hotels, a train station, a restaurant and other public buildings in Mumbia on Wednesday. Several hostage situations have been reported and violence appears to still be ongoing in the city.

Men Accused in Obama Assasination Plot Plead Not Guilty

Two white supremacists accused of plotting to kill U.S. President-elect Barack Obama and dozens of other black people have pleaded not guilty to more federal charges in Tennessee. Daniel Cowart of Tennessee and Paul Schlesselman of Arkansas were originally indicted on firearms and conspiracy charges. They have already pleaded not guilty to those counts.

NYC's Great White Way is Going Green

Mayor Michael Bloomberg -- with the help of green friends like Wicked witch Elphaba -- launched the 'Broadway Goes Green' initiative Tuesday that includes plans to use energy-saving bulbs and recycle stage sets. The aim of the campaign is to reduce Broadway's carbon footprint, a measure of greenhouse gases produced by human activity.
